Mr. De La Cruz is extremely active in the local business and minority community. He has served in prominent leadership roles in civic, business and minority service organizations. Among these positions includes serving as the Founder and President of the Hispanic Contractors Association - Greater Houston Area, Inc. and serving on several committees of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A member of the Board of Directors of the Reid Road Municipal Utility District No. 1, and served on the Steering Committee of the Houston Minority Business Council, is a recent recipient of the COMPTO Community Leadership Award for exemplary commitment, leadership, and dedication of the citizens of Houston.
Recently Mr. De La Cruz was appointed to the Port of Houston Authority Advisory Council to the Port's new Small Business Development Program and also appointed to the Advisory Committee of Texas Southern University Construction Technology Program. He is current Chairman and Founder of the Alliance of Minority Contractors of Houston, a non-profit focused on assisting minority contractors in the greater Houston area. He serves on the board for Project Hope of Houston, a non-profit focused on mentoring at-risk high school students. He was recently recognized and awarded the Henry B. Gonzalez Latino Leadership Award for his contribution in the Hispanic Community. Awarded 2003 MED WEEK Advocate of the Year at the Houston Minority Business Development Center's annual event. Most recently recognized for his leadership in the Houston Toyota Center Minority and Women - Owned Business Enterprise Participation Program where the project received a Mayoral Proclamation for its MWBE accomplishments.
Gilbert is on the management team of The Trevino Group Inc., a highly recognized local General Contractor and Construction Management firm. Prior to joining TTG he held the position of Operations Manager for Dynasol, an international firm based in Madrid, Spain. He has served as Senior Management Consultant with the Houston Minority Business Development Center.
